On 20 May 2022, at 13.00 – 14.30 PM Khon Kaen University held a virtual MOU signing ceremony between Khon Kaen University (KKU), Kingdom of Thailand and Jiujiang University (JJU), People's Republic of China. The ceremony was led by Prof. Dr. Xiaolin CHEN, President of Jiujiang University and Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, President of Khon Kaen University, who signed the MOU to promote collaboration in human resource development, exchange programs and academic exchanges between the two universities.
Jiujiang University (JJU) is a public comprehensive university accredited by the Ministry of Education of China. Jiujiang University offers 88 undergraduate programs, covering fields such as Medicine, Engineering, Science, Economics, Management, Education, Fine Arts, Agriculture, Law, etc. and offers a variety of degree and non-degree programs for international learners. There are currently more than 400 international students studying at the university.
Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, M.D., President of Khon Kaen University said, “Khon Kaen University encourages fostering links and cooperation with universities in the People's Republic of China in all areas, including student exchange activities, research collaboration, development of teaching and learning, and cultural cooperation activities. Khon Kaen University currently has MOUs with more than 39 institutions in the People's Republic of China, with students from the People's Republic of China studying both at undergraduate and graduate levels.”
Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, M.D., President of Khon Kaen University continued, “The signing of this MOU is a significant step forward in human resource development in business administration, organizational management, public affairs management, and social sciences and development for the College of Management Graduate Studies, the College of Local Administration, and the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. Khon Kaen University is delighted to cooperate to continuously promote education. I hope and trust that today's talks provide a good opportunity to initiate cooperation activities in numerous sectors, including expanding cooperation with different faculties in the future, leading to the development of education for both countries to be more prosperous.”
Attending the ceremony as witnesses were administrators of Khon Kaen University from the International Affairs, the College of Graduate Study in Management, the College of Local Administration, and the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, and The ceremony was held at Sirikunakorn 5, 6th floor, Sirikunakorn building, Khon Kaen University.
