» KKU warmly welcomes the Mexican Ambassador to Thailand (1755 Views)

On March 6, 2017, H.E Jaime Nualart, Mexican Ambassador to Thailand and Mr. Adolfo Garcia, Deputy Chief of Mission, the Embassy of Mexico in Bangkok, Thailand visited KKU. They were welcomed by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sommai Priprem, Vice President for Finance and Asset, Asst. Prof. Dr. Teekayu Plangkoon Jorns, Assistant to the President for International Relations, Asst. Prof. Dr. Acharawan Topark-Ngarm, Assistant to the President for International Collaboration, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yupa Hanboonsong, lecturer at the Faculty of Agriculture. The ambassador and diplomat discussed about possible academic collaboration with KKU administrators, especially in the areas related to collaborative research with social impact. The ambassador and the diplomat also visited the Faculty of Agriculture to see the cricket farm and also visited the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences to meet with the administrators and lecturers from the Department of Spanish Language. Moreover, H.E Jaime Nualart and the diplomat also visited Ubolratana District to see the demonstration of agricultural production by villagers related to cricket products which are produced in collaboration with KKU following the good agricultural practices (GAP) set by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). This cricket production increases the income for the villagers in Ubolratana District to about 80,000 – 90,000 Baht a month.
