» KKU creates Thai-Laos collaboration to promote education and economic development of KKU (1608 Views)

On March 15, 2017, Mr. Bounsy VONGBOUASY, Consul-General, the Consulate-General of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, Khon Kaen  presided over the University – Business – Industry Partnership Roundtable: Networking and Promoting Thai – Lao PDR Economic Development event and gave the opening remark. This event was co-organized by the Human Resource Development Institution, KKU and Bureau of International Cooperation Strategy, the Office of the Higher Education Commission. This event was under the development cooperation project among Thailand and neighboring countries along the border, and it was held at Kosa Hotel, Khon Kaen during March 15-17, 2017.

In this event, Dr. Narongchai Akrasanee, the Chairman of the Khon Kaen University Council gave the special talk on the roles of higher education institutions for strengthening development in business and industry sectors of Laos and Thailand. Also, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Amnouy Kamtuo, Director of the Human Resource Development Institution gave a reporting speech. More than 200 participants attended in the event such as administrators of educational institutions, academicians, government officers, personnel from private and public organizations and State Enterprises in North eastern part of Thailand and Laos.

This event aimed to give knowledge and understanding about the roles in business and industry sectors based on the expansion of economies of Thailand and Laos and the roles of higher education institutions for strengthening development in business and industry sectors. Also, the outcome of this project was aimed to perceive ways for academic collaboration between higher education institutions and business and industry sectors of Thailand and Laos to support the expansion of economies and understanding agreement patterns in creating collaborative networks.
