On April 26, 2017, Prof. Dr. Hisaaki Mihara and Mr. Kenji Tanaka from Ritsumeikan University, Japan visited Khon Kaen University. They were welcomed by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kittichai Trirattanasirichai, the President of Khon Kaen University together with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pornthap Thanonkeo, Dean of the Faculty of Technology, the faculty lecturers, Asst. Prof. Dr. Vichai Leelavatcharamas, Director of Fermentation Research Center for Value Added Agricultural Products, Khon Kaen University, Thailand, and the Director of International Relations Division. The delegates visited KKU to discuss about activities under MOU which will start in the future such as Sakura program. This program is the student exchange program in a short period of 3 weeks for graduate studies in specific fields of science and technology. The total number of requirement is 10. This project will be done in cooperation with 3 countries that are Japan, Indonesia, and Thailand. For Thailand, four universities will collaborate together namely Kasetsart University, Chiang Mai University, Prince of Songkla University, and Khon Kaen University. Moreover, the delegates also reported progress of activities which cooperated with the Faculty of Technology and strengthened relationships between the two universities. Moreover, KKU proposed to extend collaboration to other fields such as sport science and biomedical science. In 2018, both universities are interested in co-hosting the Mini Symposium, too.
