» KKU enhances students’ skills in competitions and shows 170 pieces of work (1248 Views)

On May 2, 2017, the Faculty of Engineering, Khon Kaen University, held the 19^th Student Project Competition, 2017. The objectives were to encourage students to present their academic work, enhance students’ abilities to develop their projects and create an academic competitive environment. The event was held at the first floor, Hasibpee Wisawa Ruamjai Building and Pian Vijitr Building in Khon Kaen University.

Professor Dr. Apirat Siritaratiwat, Dean of Faculty of Engineering conveyed that encouraging students to develop better projects will strengthen their academic competency and promote the faculty’s academic environment and demonstrate the strength in academics, teaching and learning, simultaneously the new-coming students will see the examples from senior students and apply in their own work in the future. The dean congratulated the students who put their efforts and patience to develop their work and submit it to this competition. No matter what the outcome would be, whether students received the prize or not, it did not matter. The important thing is to strengthen each student’s academic competency.

Asst. Prof. Dr. Kanittha Khamwilaisak, Associate Dean in Academic Affairs who was responsible for the project said that the academic section of Faculty of Engineering has organized students’ project competition every year since 1998. It is the 19^th time this year. The objectives are to encourage students to develop better projects, enhance students’ academic competency, create excellent academic environment in the faculty and set an example for younger students to see the work of senior students. The activity has been cooperated by all departments and 170 pieces of work were submitted, divided into 3 types: 47 inventions, 77 engineering applications, and 46 knowledge development projects.
