On July 26, 2017, the Overseas Indonesian Student Association in Thailand and the Indonesian Student Club, Khon Kaen University co-organized “The 5th Asian Academic Society International Conference - AASIC 2017” at V Wish Hotel, Khon Kaen Province. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sommai Priprem, Vice President for Finance and Assets presided over the event together with H.E. Mr. Ahmad Rusdi, Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia, Prof. Mustari Education and Culture Attache’ from the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Bangkok, Asst. Prof. Dr. Acharawan Topak-ngam, Assistant to the President for International Collaboration, and KKU administrators. This conference received great support from the Embassy of the Republic Indonesia in Bangkok and Khon Kaen University. The aim of this conference was to promote and create new ideas in academic filed and share ideas from multidisciplinary perspectives. There were more than 200 participants in the conference including academicians, researchers and scholars.
On the following day, Asst. Prof. Dr. Acharawan Topak-ngam, Assistant to the President for International Collaboration and KKU administrators from many faculties discussed collaborations in academic field, research, and also exchange of staff and students with 14 leading educational institutions in Indonesia. KKU adminstrators further discussed with the Department of Education and Culture of the Embassy of Republic Indonesia, Bangkok about ways to encourage Indonesian government to support their personnel to pursue study at Khon Kaen University.
