On, August 8, 2017, Mr. Surapon Petch-Vra, Khon Kaen University Council’s Committee as the Chairman of Sub-Committee Affairs on the Greater Mekong Sub-region (GMS) together with Dr. Kurujit Nakornthap, Khon Kaen University Council’s Committee, and the International Affairs Executives led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nawarat Wara-aswapati Charoen, Vice President for International Affairs, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Acharawan Topark-Ngarm, Assistant to the President for International Collaboration, Deans and some Faculty Staff and especially the representatives from Mekong Institute had the special meeting to exchange views on GMS countries’ collaboration in various activities. Several issues were exchanged and discussed during that meeting for example academic service, intensive training, research collaboration and the scholarship provided to the students and staff of each GMS countries, etc. The main objective of the meeting was data collection and brain storming to establish the “Virtual GMS Center at KKU”, and there will be further meetings to develop the concrete possibilities of the common center in the near future.
