» KKU discusses collaboration with a delegates from the Otemon Gakuin University, Japan (1551 Views)

On August 22, 2017, Asst. Prof. Dr. Acharawan Tophak-Ngam, Assistant to the President for International Collaboration, together with the International Relations Division staff welcomed Dr. Keiji Hata, Director, Centre for Educational Development and Assistant to the President, Otemon Gakuin University, Osaka, Japan along with two delegates, and a Japanese Professor Dr. Hayashi Masayuki from the Faculty of Public Health, Khon Kaen University (KKU), Thailand who accompanied the Japanese delegation during their visit here. The aim of their visit was to put forward their idea of “Global Leadership Program” for students at KKU, Thailand to encourage and develop the abilities of both Japanese and Thai students towards becoming global citizens by providing opportunities of interaction and blending into the cultural and business environments of both countries. This program is already being run by their university with countries like Malaysia, South Korea and Taiwan. They also suggested a proposal to improve Khon Kaen as MICE city through student projects with collaborations between related faculties at Khon Kaen University, Thailand and Otemon Gakuin University, Japan. In addition, they also dicussed a couple of possibilities of reciprocal collaborative internships and exchanges for students and staff to promote  awareness about Japanese Business Etiquettes (Manners) and they also showed interest in posssible opportunities for Japanese students to experience and learn Thai Business Etiquettes to elevate student experiences in both countries.  Otemon Gakuin University  was established in 1966 and has long tradition of academic excellence and strong focus on student experience. It is a renowned humanities university of Japan with six faculties: Economics, Management, Regional Development Studies, Sociology, Psychology and International Liberal Arts.
