» KKU holds SMBC Global Foundation Scholarship Program (2420 Views)

On August 28, 2017, the International Relations Division held a scholarship awarding ceremony for the SMBC Global Foundation Scholarship Program at Sirikunakorn Building, Khon Kaen University. Assoc. Prof. Piansak Pakdee, Vice President for Student and Alumni Affairs presided over the ceremony together with Asst. Prof. Dr. Acharawan Topark-Ngarm, Assistant to the President for International Collaboration and Asst. Prof. Dr. Sutida Ngonkun, Associate Dean for International Affairs. They welcomed the scholarship committee including Mr.Tetsuo Ota, General Manager of Risk Management and Business Control Department of Bangkok (RMBCDB) , Mr. Attaphon Niramonrat, First Vice President Manager, Human Resources Development and Support Unit Human Resources and the representatives from Institute of International Education: Mr. Sinchai Lekwanitchakul, Senior Officer, Assessment Services and Ms. Maytiwa Thavornpinittham, Program Officer, Scholarship Programs were the honorable guests of the event.

SMBC scholarships are awarded to the students from the first to forth year of undergraduate studies in the Faculty or Department related to Japanese language & culture, Economic, Business Administration, or Commerce and Law who achieve a GPA of at least 3.00 and have demonstrated hard working attitude in their studies. These students should also have the potential of self development towards becoming leaders in their own fields of studies and future work for the development of Thailand. 

In 2016 academic year, the SMBC Scholarship Awarding Committee has granted 6 scholarships to KKU student recipients. The six awardee students will receive 1,150 USD per person per year, or an amount of 40,000 Baht per person per year.

The list of the recipients receiving the scholarship this year included Mr.Satit Chamjaidee from College of Local Administration, Mr.Panupong Phectsuwan and Mr. Krisak Sriboonrueang from the Faculty of Law, Miss Nanthiphorn Mimgkhwan from the Faculty of Education, and Miss Khanittha Chuaibunchum and Miss Nanthiphorn Mimgkhwan from the Faculty of Humanities and social Sciences.
