On September 13, 2017, Prof. Dr. Supachai Pathumnakul, Vice President for Research and Technology Transfer, together with COLA, KKU Administrators, lecturers and International Relations Division staff welcomed the US Delegation from Hatfield School of Government, Portland State University led by Mr. Charlie Hales, Former Mayor of City of Portland, along with his wife Mrs. Nancy Hales, Former First Lady of City of Portland and other members of their delegation. The aim of their visit was to explore the possibility of collaborations and partnerships between the Portland State University and Khon Kaen University towards the the idea of building Khon Kaen as a sustainable SMART city by supporting and collaborating on projects based on SMART City concept and the successful model of Portland City as sustainable, livable urban environments with futuristic, functional, efficient community supported governance parameters. The KKU Vice President Dr. Suppachai along with the COLA Aministrators thanked the Former Mayor of Portland City Mr. Charlie and his delegation for their support and visit to Khon Kaen University and expressed his desire for future colloborations and partnerships towards developing Khon Kaen into a SMART City in near future. The delegation will also be joining “The 5th International Conference on Government Performance Management and Leadership” on 14-15th September, 2017 at COLA, KKU.
