On September 29, 2017, Asst. Prof. Dr. Acharawan Tophak-Ngam, Assistant to the President for International Cooperation, along with Ms. Netdao Chamroendararasmee, Director of International Relations Division and the representatives of three faculties; Faculty of Education, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, International College, and ASEAN Language Center, together with IRD staff welcomed Prof. Dr. Koji Kobata, Deputy Dean, School of Global and Community Studies, and Deputy Director of International Center, University of Fukui, Japan.
The aim of his visit was to explore collaborative relationship with KKU, Thailand by building new partnerships and collaborations between both universities through establishing a MoU that will pave the path for joint projects, research, students exchanges, staff exchanges, co-organizing international conferences, language and cultural activities towards promoting and building strong international relations. The representatives of both the universities discussed about student exchanges and duration of stay which included short term stay in summers few weeks and long term stay of minimum one semester duration for students. This will give opportunities to students to absorb themselves into culture of the host country. They also discussed about students to take up Project Based Learning courses of all levels where they can experience the local community engagement and interactions. They also exchanged views about offering language courses in Japanese and English to Thai students going there and Thai language courses for Japanese students coming here for more effective exchange programs.
University of Fukui was established in 1949 and maitains a vision of social contribution through education, research and medical care by serving as a center of academic and cultural activities with a high sense of ethics towards promoting world-class education and research in science and technology for society’s well-being and providing advanced medical services to its local community. The University of Fukui is located in the Fukui prefecture and has three campuses in Bunkyo, Matsuoka and Tsuruga.
