» KKU and EU Delegation to Thailand co-organize the “Erasmus+ Seminar and Info Day” (2392 Views)

On October 19, 2017, IRD, Khon Kaen University and the EU Delegation to Thailand co-organized the seminar entitled “Erasmus+ Seminar and Info Day” for lecturers, students, and staff of Khon Kaen University. Asst. Prof. Dr. Acharawan Topark-Ngarm, Assistant to Vice President for International Collaboration presided over the opening ceremony and gave a welcome speech to Mr. Colin Steinbach, Head of Political, Press and Information Section, EU Delegation to Thailand and the accompanying delegates Ms. Khobkhul Inieam, Program Officer, EU Delegation to Thailand and Ms. Chaidarun Tippawan, Team Leader, Erasmus+ Promotion Working Group. All the three delegates gave the presentations in this event for promoting Erasmus+ and talked about the opportunities it has to offer for the academic staff and students in KKU. Many interested participants attended the seminar which was held at the Graduate School Conference Room, 4th Floor, the Bimala Kalakicha Building, Khon Kaen University.

The morning session of the event focused on interested academic staff and the afternoon session was focused on both students and academic staff. Erasmus+ is the EU's programme to support education, training, youth and sport in Europe. Erasmus+ in higher education supports International credit mobility, Joint Master Degrees, Capacity Building in Higher Education, Jean Monnet activities, research and other opportunities like National projects, Structural projects and Multi-Country projects to promote International cooperation between Programme countries and Partner countries following a Consortia Structure set by Erasmus+. The call for proposal and application has opened in October and will close in February.

Erasmus+ is the European Union programme for education, training, youth and sport. It invites organizations and institutions to apply for funding each year to undertake creative and productive activities. Erasmus+ also aspires to modernize education, training and youth work across Europe and around the globe by international cooperation. It is accessible to education, training, youth and sport organizations across all areas of lifelong learning, which includes school education, further and higher education, adult education and the youth sector. It endeavors exciting opportunities for participants to then study, work, volunteer, teach and train abroad in Europe.
